Synopsis: Nono is about to turn thirteen. According to Jewish tradition, he must soon have his Bar Mitzvah. Nono's father, the best detective inspector of the entire Dutch police force, shows an eager Nono all there is to know about the job. He answers all questions except those about his mother. Nono's mother died when he was very young, leaving him only a faceless photo. His relatives say that he has inherited quite a bit from her, especially when he is naughty. His naughtiness leads his father to send him to stay with his uncle Sjmoel so he can learn how to behave. On the way he is abducted by a mysterious man who takes him on a journey into the past…

Vincent Bal: Vincent Bal (1971) is a Belgian screenwriter and director. As a child he appeared as an actor in musicals and on TV. He graduated in film directing from the art college Sint-Lukas Brussel with the short film Tour de France (1994). He made a successful debut with his feature-length family film Man of Steel (Man van staal, 1999). He kept to the same genre with thie films Miss Minoes (Minoes, 2001) and Nono, The Zigzag Kid (Nono, Het Zigzag Kind, 2012). He's also participated in the making of the animated series Kika & Bob.
