Synopsis: The story of a princess who grows up without her mother. Her father - a gentle and fair king - loves his daughter above everything. Nonetheless, he wants to marry her off no matter what - though no one quite knows why he's in such a hurry. The king throws a grand ball at the chateau and many princes come to ask for the princess's hand, but for some reason the king doesn't fancy her final choice at all... Only later do we find out that behind everything is an ancient curse, the ruler of an empire of witches and the Ice Dragon. The princess and her chosen one set off on an arduous and perilous journey...
Eugen Sokolovský: Eugen Sokolovský (1950) is a television and theatre director and pedagogue. He graduated from the Janáček Academy of Music and then focused primarily on theater directing. He made his start in film as an assistant at Brno TV Studios and remained faithful to the television environment throughout his works - focused chiefly on child or teenaged audiences. His filmography contains nearly twenty fairy tales and series, for example, Scheherazade (Šahrazád, 1985) and Box of Dates (Bedna s datlemi, 1998). Sokolovský has also directed the trivia show AZ Quiz and the talent show Golden Nut (Zlatý oříšek).
